1 in 50 people are living with paralysis and technology can help them in different ways. Adaptive equipment exists for travel, communications, home, exercise, and mobility. But until today nothing has been developed for something extremely important: playing with their children, nephews and grandchildren.
By combining innovative, wearable technology with popular toys, we created accessible toys that can be used by individuals living with limited mobility from the neck down.
We invited the world to fund and expand the project. A crowdfunding initiative on Indiegogo is helping Adaptoys reach families everywhere, and we plan on delivering them this Christmas.
Famous for the Superman movies, actor Christopher Reeve sustained a spinal cord injury in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. The Reeve Foundation is dedicated to improving quality of life for people living with paralysis. Adaptoys fuels Reeve’s dream of a more accessible and inclusive world so that no one feels sidelined at playtime.
